Will & Patrick Fight Their Feelings (Wake Up Married Book 4)

Will & Patrick Fight Their Feelings (Wake Up Married Book 4) - Alice Griffiths, Leta Blake 4.5 Stars

I waffled between a 4 and a 4.5 on this one...but the heart has been pulled towards 4.5 in the end. I am absolutely loving how this is being developed but fucking hell of a cliffhanger...thankful the next one is already waiting for me. Phew!!!

Status Updates:

Maybe it’s selfish, but knowing Patrick the way he does now, he doesn’t want him to ever leave. If nothing else, he needs Patrick in his family as a friend. Dozens of Christmases into the future, he wants Patrick out on the farm with him, opening gifts and eating Grandma Betty’s pie. For dozens of New Years’ Eves he wants to dance at least one song in Patrick’s arms.

Patrick doesn’t know what he said wrong, aside from everything, but suddenly Will’s eyes well with tears and he starts to cry.

Nothing Like Paris

Nothing Like Paris - Amy Jo Cousins Yeah...this was a DNF at 27%. I am not connecting with this at all.

Sex, Lies & Wedding Bells

Sex, Lies & Wedding Bells - E.M. Lynley Yeah...I was excited about this until I read Dani's review. NOPE...NOT HAPPENING. Really too bad.

Cross & Crown

Cross & Crown - Abigail Roux So I had already placed this on the Do Not Touch shelf...and after reading Sidewinder 1 and Book 8, I was especially curious if I would be missing something...was the cliffhanger with Nick at the end of Book 8 going to continue into this book or Book 9?? After finding out that this book is a complete side story, I have confirmed that I am not going to read this. Plus Marco's warning on my man, Julian...I just cannot go there with this book. Really too bad as I love Nick and Kelly, but it seems Ms. Roux got this one wrong on many levels. Oh well...maybe eventually we will get another book on Cam and Julian and Nick and Kelly for that matter. :)

Shot Through the Heart

Shot Through the Heart - C.J. Bishop DNF at 13%. Nothing turns me off more than knowing my MC was raped repeatedly as a kid but then to get flashbacks of it from different POVs. Yeah no. And the author will be lucky I ever read anything else. Don't have time for a warning...yeah I don't have time for your books. I'm so pissed because I was loving this too.

Leaving Flowers

Leaving Flowers - Raine O'Tierney, Debbie McGowan DNF at 57% - Yeah this is not working for me at all. I love Patrick to death but the side story just is not worth it for me.

This is my issue and therefore no rating will be given.

Kick at the Darkness

Kick at the Darkness - Keira Andrews
As a huge Walking Dead fan I had big expectations for this and that was easily my first mistake. Add Werewolves and I was more than a little puzzled...I've never been a fan. And this book did not sell me on them at all. So many things bothered me about this book.

Now granted...who's the big quitter...

Yep that's me. Oh well. I've read better from this author and hope to read better from her in the future. But I just can't with this when all I want to do is read something else.

DNF at 70%/no rating

BR with Marte, Marco, Momo and Elsbeth...May 30th

Bringing It Home

Bringing It Home - Kora Knight
Yeah 3 months later and I still have no desire to finish this. Scott's behavior ruined this couple for me. I will not continue. I hate that I took what happened this way, but oh well.

DNF at 60%/No Rating

I've ranted for the first 60% of this book...call me hormonal...who knows. I refuse to DNF this book when clearly everyone else loved it. But I do need to walk away for now. Perhaps a series reread later will make me see things differently.

Love is a Stranger

Love is a Stranger - John Wiltshire DNF at 11%. Yeah this is clearly not a book for me. I'm big on first impressions and there is nothing about this situation or these two that I like at all. Obviously a personal issue.

No rating.

Sorry to bail guys.

BR with Marco, Elsbeth, Nathan, Teodora, Marte, Momo and Trisha... on July 22nd.

Merman - K.Z. Snow DNF at 70%, no rating

Honestly I had intentions of finishing this. I could not keep up with Momo and other BRs came up that honestly just interested me more. After 3 weeks of staring at this on my currently reading shelf I'm hanging this one up.

Bummer...because the characters I loved but the feel of this one just was not doing it for me. Book 1 of the series...Mongrel...is pretty good and I think worth the read, as a standalone.

Oh well.

Beneath the Stain

Beneath the Stain - Amy Lane DNF at 59%. No rating.

Yeah yeah I'll take the crown on biggest DNFer but I need to stop here with this one. I'm at a good point. I'm content and I like the MCs. They are sweet and loving and there's the "hope" for something "real".

Ultimately I think this book just wasn't for me. I don't mind angst, I don't mind emotional gut busters filled with tears but I never got that. Instead this really was more torture for me and feeling irritable during a book is just not how I want to feel.

I don't need to be beat upside the head with shit to make me feel something for a character. I didn't need all that. Mackey himself carries the emotional aspects of the book just fine and this just seems forced. Trav...well Trav is beautiful and there's nothing more to say there.

Oh and fucking hell. This book could have been half the length and carried a much more powerful punch.

Had the book wowed me to the end I'm doubtful I would have rated this over 3 stars.

Hate to bail on my BRers but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

BR with Els and Marco, Monday, December 7th

Pent Up

Pent Up - Damon Suede Definitely not for me.

From the quotes alone I've seen from the Guinea pig, Momo.

The Girl Next Door

The Girl Next Door - Amy Jo Cousins Cover love no doubt.

Considering I did not finish Book #2...I'm passing on this...lady parts and all.

Full Circle

Full Circle - Riley Hart I've been on the fence with this and book #3 for a while. Sometimes is best to quit on a high note. Broken Pieces could easily be one of my favorite MM books ever...I'm not going to even think about tarnishing this love.

An Infatuation

An Infatuation - Joe Cosentino I don't know about this...and there are no reviews (from my peeps). Looks like no-no heaven from the blurb. :/

The Half of Us

The Half of Us - Cardeno C. So yeah it has been nearly 2 months since I put this one down thinking I might continue. Really I have no interest at this point.
